Once called "the mother of all projectors" by John Simon, she is in fact the mother of two swell girls. She parlayed a background in film and graphic design into a career in the theater by doing something no else wanted to do. Her career began with They're Playing our Song, which she freely admits was the first musical she'd seen outside of the movies, and culminated this past season in Ragtime, The Capeman, Freak, Amy's View (RNT), Transatlantic (Minnesota Opera), Othello for ABT, and As Thousands Cheer and "Hope" is the thing with feathers- (also her World Premier as a set designer) for Drama Dept.
Also: The Who's Tommy, Hapgood, Having our Say, a few operas and a couple of concerts for PBS.
Ms. Harrington is a founding member of Drama Dept.
