Frank Pugliese, Writer / Director

NY Stage: "hope" is the thing with feathers- (Drama Dept.), Aven'U Boys (Off-B'way, Obie Award), The King of Connecticut, Talk, The Alarm (all with Naked Angels); and The Summer Winds (NY Stage and Film).

Regional: The Talk (One Act Festival in LA). Film: Aven'U Boys (in development); Dion (based on Dion and the Belmonts for Barry Levinson); The Six (Barry's Baltimore Pictures and Hollywood Pictures); Oliver (an updated version of Oliver Twist produced by Quincy Jones); Mob Girl (Castle Rock); Trinities (New Line Cinema); Cousin Joey (written for Sante D'Orazio, who is directing, and co-produced by Frank); plus numerous rewrites on studio pictures.

TV: Homicide (WGA Award); and Love and Blood for Fallen Angels (Cable Ace Award Nomination).

Directing credits: As one of Naked Angel's first Artistic Directors, Frank developed: The Issues Project, Tuesdays At Nine and Angel's in Progress.

NY Stage: Some Voices (by Joe Penhall, with the New Group this winter); Hesh (by Matthew Wiess, Malaparte Theatre Company, Naked Angels); The Passion Play (by Pippin Parker, Naked Angels).

Film: Jersey Girl (by Wendy Riss).

Frank is a graduate of Cornell University where he won the Forbes Herman award for playwrighting, and was Artistic Director of the Whistling Shrimp Theatre Co. At NYU Dramatic Writing Program, he was named "Graduate Student of the Year," and Frank is also a former NYU Internship-Playwright in Residence at the Royal Court in London. Last year Frank was honored by New York University's Tisch School of the Arts fifteenth year anniversary, as their outstanding alumni in the field. Frank is a proud member of Naked Angels, Drama Dept., and co-founder of both The Writer's Group and The Screenwriter's Collective.
